al-at-deny-ranch-1938.jpgI am not quite over-the-hill yet. I prefer to think I’m on top looking down on the other side at the good things ahead. I retired from sawmill work some twenty-three years ago and have been busy ever since. I’ve always been interested in the great outdoors. After graduating from grade school I went to work on a ranch. This was the start of my adult life at age 15. My first attempt at photography was with a Kodak Brownie with the flip-up viewfinder. A few years later I switched over to 8mm movies. Then after hundreds of feet of 8mm and super8 movies I switched over to slide film. After several thousand slides I’ve switched over to home movies with a camcorder. Digital is now the media I use most. I’ll be sharing some of my latest photos on this site.

Hi Al and Hilda, I received a fun photo of two “Bullwinkles” walking down Federal Way and wanted to share it with you but don’t have your email. Hope you both are well and that your holidays were good. 🙂

Yours and Hilda’s wedding photo is a lovely tribute to your love for each other.

I have read in Hinterland’s Who’s Who that Mountain bluebirds can hover like hummingbird about a meter off the ground to hunt if there are no perches available. Do you know if this is so for western and eastern bluebirds too?
